Barbara Dane: Show 203

Isn’t it great to make a new friend?  Boosie would like to introduce you to Blues/Folk artist, Barbara Dane.  Barbara’s deep voice and striking lyrics helped moved a generation to speak out in 1950’s, 1960’s San Francisco.

The magazine, Ebony, wrote in the early 60’s, “she seemed “startlingly blonde, especially when that powerful dusky alto voice begins to moan of trouble, two-timing men and freedom … with stubborn determination, enthusiasm and a basic love for the underdog, [she is] making a name for herself”

Also on the show:  Lightnin’ Hopkins, Albert King, Howlin’ Wolf, Joe Cocker and a special guest The B just HAS to play…
